for a horror short film anthology being filmed Montreal.

SYNOPSIS:

A thrift store enthusiast happens upon an unmarked video tape in a local thrift store and decides to buy it. Upon inspection, the video tape is a recording of a local public access channel from 1998 that has since become defunct, with little information on its past existence. The recording features multiple segments from the local public access TV station that become increasingly erratic and disturbing, culminating in a sudden act of violence that likely caused the station to shut down. No information about the station could be found online or in newspapers.

GENERAL Details:

This call is for casting the characters that appear in the public access TV recordings. Specifically, 3 roles need to be filled. More information provided below on each role.
Shoots will take place indoors.
Roles require script memorization & spoken english proficiency - script will be provided. See character information for details.
Payment will be provided.
We are currently only casting the first 2 segments, the “preacher segment” and “callgirl segment”
Preacher scene includes gore & violence. More notes provided below.

CHARACTER 1 - PREACHER

White male (age 40-60)
English-speaking, Southern/American/New York accent preferable
Charismatic and smooth-talking
Is hosting a live self-help public access segment that eventually derails and becomes a snuff film.
Single take, as it’s meant to be live.
Must be comfortable with action - scene ends with violence
Script & line memorization required. Script provided upon casting application.
$100CAD payment. Segment lasts roughly 5 minutes.
Wardrobe: Tucked in dress shirt, slacks. Simple suit also works, as pictured.

CHARACTER 2 - CALLGIRL

Woman of any ethnicity (age 30-50)
English-speaking
Segment replicates late 90s cable TV phone sex hotline commercials.
Character is a phone hotline callgirl who will feature in an ad for the phone hotline. Starts out as a standard recreation of phone sex hotline commercial that devolves into an intense questioning of the viewer and their motivations.
Script & line memorization required. Script provided upon casting application.
Takes are shot in “segments” so it’s not all one take.
$100CAD payment. Segment lasts roughly 5 minutes.
Wardrobe: A black dress with sheer leggings, as pictured to the left, with similar hair styling but hair styling not a requirement.
IMPROVISATIONAL SKILL A HUGE PLUS!

CHARACTER 3 - UNKNOWN VICTIM

Male of any ethnicity (age 25-50)
Non-speaking role, no script memorization required
Must be comfortable with action - more details provided in script
Character is bound & restrained, as Character 1 plans to sacrifice him
Character will be killed & dismembered by Character 1 at the end of his segment.
$50CAD payment. Only featured in the last minute of Segment 1.
Wardrobe: All black attire - black long-sleeve shirt & black pants with black shoes.
